VCS Header and Logo Change


This screen shows instructions to personalise your VCS printed Headers and Logos.

1. VCS Header or Banner for your Internet or Intranet timetable prints.

To choose and copy an existing header or banner and create a header.jpg file.

First find a colorful banner or long and thin header on your web page or screen.
Press the [Print Screen] button on the keyboard
Click on the Windows [Start] button on the left lower corner of the screen and select [Programs]
Next Select [Accessories] and then [Paint]
Select (E)dit (P)aste from the menu
Select the square box tool and outline your chosen area of the printed screen.
Select (E)dit C(u)t
Select (F)ile (N)ew
Select (E)dit (P)aste
Select (F)ile, Save(A)s c:\vss\header.jpg

Now when you (F)ile (P)rint a timetable and in the preview dialog Save(A)s a .htm file.....
your new header will appear at the top of the VCS timetable.

2. VCS Logo for direct to printer timetable prints

To choose and copy an existing logo and create a vss_report_logo.gif file:

First find a square logo or nice looking colorful area on screen.
Press the [Print Screen] button on the keyboard
Click on the Windows [Start] button on the left lower corner of the screen and select [Programs]
Next Select [Accessories] and then [Paint]
Select (E)dit (P)aste from the menu
Select the square box tool and outline your chosen square area of the printed screen.
Select (E)dit C(u)t
Select (F)ile (N)ew
Select (E)dit (P)aste
Check the Image, Attributes and if size is > 79 x 59 pixels, use Image, Resize/Skew to reduce.
Select (F)ile, Save(A)s c:\VSS\vss_report_logo.gif OR Save(A)s c:\VSS\logo.jpg

Now when you (F)ile (P)rint a timetable your new logo will automatically appear.

If your chosen logo is too large, VSS will suggest a reduction to 79 x 59 pixels maximum.
Use MS-Paint, select (I)mage and then Resize/Skew.
Reduce the horizontal and vertical %size to get to 79x59 pixels max.
Then resave the file in c:\VSS
