Latest VCS Timetable Software Developments
2010 V4.0 High School and US College Timetable Software
This week:
US Colleges are purchasing V4.0 and we have a lot of interest from
USA and Australian High School Timetabling.
VCS has been shortlisted by one of New Zealands largest university campuses for scheduling in late 2010.
Faculties in Sydney have ordered VCS, along with individual Teaching sections.
The new VCS V3.55 optionally covers the new NSW TAFE Teaching Awards.
Development has been busy extending the schedule date features.
Previous week
Updates for the Part-time Teacher DOTT after 10 hours per week and
changes for all these in the totals for Screen displays, Statistics and
Listing timetable, Teacher Summary and Budget Spreadsheet.
VCS4.0 and VCS3.55 includes Windows Vista and Windows 7 security changes.
Updated the VCS web-site also. Put up some links to the NSW TAFE Semester start dates

Our existing clients in the US are keen to get the V4.0 timetable print changes with
the flexibility to print shorter classes + later evening classes.
The VCS ability to give students a day off a week is generating interest and so is the

2010 V3.55 NSW TAFE Award and Microsoft Updates
NSW TAFE Head Teachers are purchasing V3.55.
VCS is being evaluated by the US Navy Civil Engineering Corps. Navy and Army training have special needs that VCS is likely a good match for.
The new award includes 20 teaching hours per week and DE commencing after 6.30PM.
Use Edit Settings and enter 20 and DE will automatically accrue from 18.30 - or optionally
enter 19 hours per week and the previous award will be fsapplied.
Allows timetables that extend over long periods (years).
VCS DLL and Config files have been moved to the C:\VSS directory
and VCS imports from Excel ignore blank lines in the header.

K-12 is interesting and we'd really like to do well there.
Fortunately VSS is easy to understand off the bat.

Would only take a short while to put one up in VCS.

We're hoping for feedback from timetable staff on these.
We can easily improve or add more mouse-over text.
Needs more work here = there are a lot to review.
Prepared new and upgraded V4.0 documentation including:
"How to Save with VCS" that shows the many advantages of the VCS V4.0 scheduling approach.
Differences of scheduling vs timetabling are briefly explained but basically, it
comes down to preparation vs a scramble to organise students into classes.
VCS can organise and re-organise so fast that preparation of course groups in
advance of enrolment is not only possible but
that's where the savings and benefits are for everyone.

but that's OK. At least potential clients get the chance to
